This topcoat pairs beautifully with Guild Lane metallics (please note that applying a different finish over the top of a metallic will affect the lustre).
Creating Tinted Metallic Varnishes
Guild Lane guilding enamels have incredible coverage, however for some projects you may prefer a more sheer finish.
You can mix our waterbased Original and Super guilding enamels with the Guild Lane Clear Coat to create a custom metallic varnish. We recommend using satin or gloss as these will have the reflective quality required to enhance the metallic effect. Whereas, the matte clear coat would cancel out the metallic qualities, keeping the colour but dulling the sheen and sparkle.
