The visibility of patterns and colours can be influenced by the colour of the surface they're applied on. This means that you can tweak the colour of your finished project by choosing the colour you paint the surface underneath your decoupage paper. As an example, applying over a dark base will make your paper appear more moody, applying over a pale base will make the design appear brighter. You can also make your design appear more green in tone for example by apply the decoupage paper over a green surface. How cool is that!
