Paint your own limed stone effect candlestick kit
What is Alchemy?

Alchemy is Fusion's next generation chalk style paint, a blend of chalk and limestone this paint is wonderful for creating texture, blending techniques and all sorts of painty experimenting. This tutorial focuses on achieving a limed stone effect, but that's just the start of what you're capable of with this paint!

Step One - Paint Your Candlesticks

Apply your Alchemy paint to both of your candlesticks, use your brush to stipple and create texture. Alchemy has both chalk and limestone powder in it, so its a thicker consistency than our Fusion Mineral Paint. This means it's easy to create beautiful textures like this with it, and more texture can be acheived with each coat. I have chosen to apply 2 coats, you can apply more if you choose.

Leave your candlesticks to dry between coats, or if you're impatient like me you can speed up the process with your hairdryer.

Ensure your candlesticks are dry before moving onto step 2.

Also, wash your brush so it's ready to use in the next step.

Step Two - Apply Your Liming Wax

Use your brush to apply the Liming Wax all over your candlesticks. Work the wax into all of the texture, ensuring the candlesticks are completely covered.

You can then use a tissue or lint free cloth to wipe off any excess wax until you've acheived an effect that you're pleased with. The idea is that the wax remains in the crevices, highlighting all of the beautiful texture that you created when you stippled your Alchemy paint.

It's as simple as that! Allow your wax to dry and then you can find a place in your home to display your candlesticks with pride!
