Create Your Own Ombre Style Trio Of Plant Pots With Fusion Mineral Paint

Paint Your Own Trio Of Ombre Plant Pots Using Fusion Mineral Paint

This post shows you how to create your own beautiful ombre style trio of plant pots using Fusion Mineral Paint. You may have purchased my Plant Pot Painting Kit, or you may have found this post another way. However you came here, welcome! I'm going to walk you step by step through how to mix different shades to create your ombre design.

So let's get started!

Step One - Paint Your Midnight Blue Tray

You can dip your brush straight into your Midnight Blue tester pot and paint your tray. Fusion Mineral Paint goes a really long way, so for the best finish apply thin strokes in the direction of the grain. You'll be amazed at how good the coverage is! Once this is dry you can apply a 2nd coat, this will give your finish much more depth even though the first coat was so good.

Step Two - Paint Your First Plant Pot In Cathedral Taupe

Now to paint your first pot. Follow the same process as step one, painting your pot in 2 coats of the beautiful shade Cathedral Taupe.

Step Three - Paint Your Second Plant Pot In Custom Pale Blue

Now for the fun part, it's time to mix our first custom colour!

Take a plate and pour about half of what's left of the Cathedral Taupe tester into there. You can now add a small amount of Midnight Blue and mix together. Hey presto! A beautiful pale blue shade, go ahead and use this to paint your 2nd pot.

Step Four - Paint Your Third Plant Pot In A Darker Custom Blue

Its time to paint our 3rd plant pot, this time in a mid toned smokey blue. Start by pouring around half of the Midnight Blue onto a plate, now add a little Cathedral Taupe and mix together. You've now created a gorgeous Smokey Blue. Use this to paint the 3rd plant pot.

By using 2 Fusion Mineral Paint tester pots in this way, we've created 4 totally harmonious shades, the perfect gradient from the soft cream of Cathedral Taupe, through pale and mid tones blues, to the rich depth of Midnight Blue.

Step Five - Get Creative!

What do you think of your trio of plant pots? Pretty cool eh!

You're likely to have a little paint left, so maybe use this to paint complimentary accessories such as a photo frame? Maybe you'd like to add some hand painted patterns to your pots? Maybe you like the vintage look and would like to do some light distressing with a piece of sand paper?

The sky is the limit!
