We're busy renovating our balcony at The Old Baptist Church to create a beautiful inspiring and creative space to run our workshtoops from.
I can't wait to show it you!
To be added to my priority waiting list just send me a message and you'll be the first to hear when we have confirmed dates!
This workshop will be taught by myself, Charlotte, the owner of Not Too Shabby by Charlotte. I use these products and techniques every day to create bespoke furniture commissions and am passionate about sharing my love of paint and creativity with new people!
The humble chair is so versatile and is the perfect piece of furniture to inject a bit of fun and personality into your home!
This workshop is a one stop furniture painting course from preparation through to completion, all learnt through you painting your very own chair.
We'll start by talking you through how to prepare your furniture, including how to approach different surfaces.
Then we'll come up with a design and I'll walk you through how to get perfect painting results.
You'll leave with your own bespoke painted chair!
Everything you need with be provided for you, including a vintage chair. You'll see the style of chair prior to booking your space on the workshop and as all chairs are vintage there will be different designs for each workshop. Sometimes the chairs will have an upholstered seat, on these occasions I will ask you to bring a piece of fabric and will show you how to upholster as well.
Classes are kept small, at a maximum of 4 people, so that I can give you my full attention and we can have a fun and friendly group.
You'll leave with all the knowledge, skills and confidence you'll need to continue creating at home! We'll discuss how you can apply your newly learnt skills to other furniture.
There'll be 10% off all Fusion Mineral Paint purchases on the day
Aprons will be provided, however I suggest that you don't wear your best clothes as we'll be painting and if you're anything like me you'll get it on you! The workshop will take place on the beautifully renovated balcony of my workshop, The Old Baptist Church, 170 Norman Street, Ilkeston, DE7 8NR and will be followed by a delicious afternoon tea prepared by an amazing local delicatessen.
